Good food shouldn’t go to the landfill because a deal fell through. Cascadia receives retail-rejected, surplus, and flawed-but-perfectly-good food at our Auburn warehouse 24/7, then works with the title holder to find it a market — low-cost sale, donation for people, animal feed, or compost.

Consignment, step by step
Loads get rejected at retail for all kinds of reasons — labeling, cosmetic flaws, a missed delivery window, an over-order — and most of that food is still perfectly good. When a truck has food on board with nowhere to go, we receive it at our refrigerated, food-safe warehouse in Auburn, no appointment needed, any day of the week. From there, Cascadia works on consignment with the farmer or title holder of the food: we find a buyer within our large food-access network wherever possible, and food without a market is donated to our nonprofit partners or moved to animal feed or compost.
What we take
Retail-rejected truckloads, farm surplus and seconds, manufacturer overruns, and bulk loads of flawed-but-edible food — produce, grocery, dairy, and proteins. Multiple receiving docks and large-scale food-safe cold storage on site.

Our refrigerated warehouse in Auburn receives retail-rejected truckloads 24/7, rescuing perfectly good food that would otherwise go to waste and redirecting it — at low cost or as donation — to food businesses, food-security organizations, and compost.
