We cantaloupe alone

We buy food.

Cascadia sources from multiple channels. We believe all of these channels work together to provide customers budget friendly options, also saving funding to redirect into purchases from Washington growers/fishers/ranchers. In our blended hub system, buyers can get the volume they need while still supporting the local economy and accessing culturally relevant foods in one place.

How we source

1) Regular Wholesale channels

We buy regular wholesale food from farms of all sizes, other wholesalers, and from food manufacturers such as General Mills and Tyson. It's unusual for a small business to have direct access to big food distributors, but our food access mission and zero waste processes have enabled us to secure direct access, with which we can purchase at a scale of economy.

2) Farm Surplus

Farm surplus is typically from large California farms that overgrow and want to sell discounted produce outside of their regular markets. Farm surplus includes #2s and unique pack sizes.

3) Washington Foods

Cascadia sources from Washington farms of all sizes and backgrounds for customers seeking culturally specific foods, or foods grown/caught/processed from Washington including meat, fish, produce, grains, legumes and more.
